Graphic designer wins new CEO Award

Mike Haine has been awarded the very first “CEO Award” at The Tank Museum’s latest Supporters Day on 7 March 2026.

Dedicating an incredible 23 years to the Museum, Mike has worked on many creative projects, including supporting our Exhibitions Team with graphic design and even creating replica items to further enhance our displays.

CEO Chris Price said: “We are so grateful for Mike’s support over the past 23 years. As a registered charity, our volunteers make a huge impact and without them we wouldn’t be able to fulfil our charitable aims of telling the stories of tanks and the people who served in them.”

The Tank Museum has 118 volunteers, who worked 6,986 hours in the last year. Our volunteers lend their expertise to anything from fixing tanks and driving rides vehicles, to teaching school groups and photographing our artifacts.

The CEO’s Award, which was introduced for the first time this year, is given to outstanding volunteers for their actions and impact over the past 12 months and beyond.

Chris continued: “I wanted to introduce this new award into our Supporters Day to take a moment to highlight and celebrate the dedication of our volunteers. Staff from the Museum nominated volunteers who exemplify our museum values and Mike’s commitment is a shining example of this.”

Luke Clark, Exhibitions Manager said: “Mike is a keen designer and has often made items for our exhibitions, including a Mark I First World War tank model and a replica handbag. Mike’s skill to create these iconic replicas enhance our visitors’ experience and we are so grateful for his continuous help and effort to enhance our exhibitions.”

Twice a year, the Museum runs a dedicated Supporters Day which includes a full programme of talks and activities curated especially for them, including a tour of the Workshop. The day is all about giving back to all our amazing Friends and volunteers who help to make The Tank Museum to be what it is today. Their support allows the Museum to continue to preserve historic vehicles, honour those who served, and inspire future generations.
